Yellowstone themed 60th birthday party!

My client came to me a few months prior to her husband’s milestone birthday party, explaining that she had booked the marquee company and caterer but she was looking for some WOW factors to enhance it and make the evening even MORE memorable!

10 years previously I organised a birthday party for her, and knew that the design, style and attention to detail in the planning were of utmost importance to her in creating a truly EPIC celebration for her family and discerning friends!

I brought in suppliers who provided zinc topped dining and low-level coffee tables – which were the perfect backdrop for her florist’s incredibly lavish installations.  Shabby worn, rustic benches were covered with fur skins.  Other dining tables were set off with hooped back wicker armchairs, looking suitably rustic and ‘ranch’ like and most definitely different to many other parties!

I hired in worn American style leather armchairs, Chesterfield sofas and pouffes, as well as barrels, rugs and throws to create a Saloon bar set up.  The whole party was set in a cattle shed where the tent company had cleverly managed to build the structure over the metal railings.  Chandeliers were hired in and suspended from on high.  The talented DJ was set up in the cattle crush with accompanying vocalist, saxophonist and percussionist musicians all playing sets!

I found a rusty (intentionally) corrugated iron statement bar which took centre stage for the evening, surrounded by animal hide covered stools.  Superb mixologists, at the top of their game, created a menu appropriate to the event and prepared tantalising cocktails which were a feast for the eyes and lips – for example Applejack Mojitos which included popping candy, and Gold Rush’s with freeze-dried passionfruit crumble and gold stars amongst many other mouth-watering ingredients!

Live trees and artificial LED lit trees were brought in to decorate the ‘set’ as well as copious amounts of flowers, and props.  The caterers barbecued all the food infront of guests – the tantalising smells wafting through during reception drinks.

The guests put so much effort into their costumes and it really did look like an authentic scene from Yellowstone!  Live roaming country musicians greeted the guests upon arrival, the cocktails flowed, the atmosphere was buzzing and our brief was met, I believe, judging by the feedback!  We certainly, even though working, loved the whole evening!
